Maternity Services in the
South Okanagan Similkameen

Our region has developed a community approach to maternity care. As an expectant mother, you may receive care from a combination of family physicians, midwives, obstetricians, nurses and community health professionals who will work together to provide care that is appropriate for you and your pregnancy.

The South Okanagan Maternity Centre is a team-based clinic providing collaborative interdisciplinary care for women with low-risk pregnancies.

About This Project

This website is a part of a community project that started in 2014 to improve maternity care in our region. The project engaged all maternity care providers: family physicians, midwives, obstetricians, patients, Interior Health, and allied health professionals.

The over-arching goal of the project is to develop a sustainable model of primary maternity care, one that keeps all provider groups practicing and is supportive of patient choice.
